Ma’had Al-Jamiah is an essential program that must be passed by all students of UIN Ar-Raniry. This program was firstly run at 2013 aimed to bund generations that have Islamic character and Islamic knowladge. This program does not only empharize students in academic achievement but also encourage in mastering Al-Qur’an and applying Islamic character.

  There are so many experiences I got during my life in dormitory of Ma’had Al-Jami’ah of UIN Ar-Raniry.  Such as interacting with new people, improving my english and arabic skill, and increasing my knowledge about Al-Quran and Islamic religion as well.

  During living in dormitory of Ma’had Al-Jami’ah of UIN Ar-Raniry I felt so great because I can challenge my self to interact with a new environment and new people, because this is my first time staying together in dorm. So I though it was a good experience for me to meet with new people in a new environment, moreover to be in the same room with people who have many different characters with me, in this case, I tried to understand the situation and the people in order to be able to interact well each other.

  On the other hand, I was really excited of being Mahasantri of Ma’had Al-Jamiah. Because I can improve my English and Arabic skill there. I felt glad because I can share what I have to my friends who live in dorm as well by giving them vocabularies in every morning when the English week comes. It was my chance to improve my English to be better again and opportunity to share what I know to other people, by becoming an English mentor I was able to share and improve my knowladge to musai’dah and other mentors.

  Every morning when English week comes, I teach my friends the way how to pronunciate the vocabularies as well as I can. Beside that, I also share them another thing in English such as grammar. I was better in English but not so good in Arabic one. So as long as my staying in dorm I spent the time learning Arabic, the language that I think is harder English. Fortunately, for almost three months, my Arabic was better than before. I knew some Arabic vocabularies as well. At least I am able to differentiate between the wrong and the right stucture in Arabic. English as same as Arabic is also has stuctures and tenses.

  Besides, another experience that all students of UIN Ar-Raniry and I obtained was learning Tahsinul Qur’an. There we can improve the way to recite Al-Qur’an. In this program, Mahasantri were being tough about knowladge of correcting the reciting of Al-Qur’an. Nevertheless they were being differantiated based on there competence  in reciting Al-Qur’an  which includes in basic for iqra, intermediate for tajwid, and advance for learning Al-Qur’an. So there those student would be in there own competence based on how far they ability in reciting Al-Qur’an itself. And I personally thought this was very good and so positive for those Mahasantri especially and all UIN Ar-Raniry students as well in general.

  By staying in dormitory, students can more appreciate the time. Because they cannot be relaxe as they do at home. There are obligations that Mahasantri have to do during been in Ma’had Al-Jami’ah. One of them is they have to memorize  jus amma as requirment to get the certificate of Ma’had Al-Jamiah as well it is a must for all UIN Ar-Raniry students. So I assume that students should be able to manage their time as well as they can reach their goal.

  Beside of all those experiences above, there was another good thing that student can get from this Ma’had Al-Jamiah program that is they can increase their knowladge and find solution about many problems that happen in our daily life that relates to Islam certainly. This activity known as “ Mentoring”. Here, student will get the answer for problems that might confuse them in their daily life. They can share whatever they want to ask the teacher who teaches them. I myself often share anything to my mentor as well. We share each other and give our opinion about problem that we are discusing about. And again i personally think that this is quite beneficial for student of UIN Ar-Raniry so that they can have knowladge about Islam well and can differentiate which is good and bad one.

  In conclusion, I felt so gratefull and happy to be Mahasantri in Ma’had Al-Jamiah because i can challange my self in doing many things there and definitely i can get many benefits during been there, knowladge, experiences, friends, etc, those things would be memorable things that i will never forget forever. And I will try to apply everything that I have got from Ma’had Al-Jamiah in my daily life and share it to other people someday. The point is there are so many experiences that students will obtain when they become Mahasantri and live in Ma’had Al-Jamiah or student dormitory of UIN Ar-Raniry.
